Round 1 of the BaBR Ladder Tournament began on Monday, October 13, 2008. Match bids were finalized by Monday, October 20, 2008 at 11pm EDT with the lower ranked player of each match pair (that is, the player with the even-numbered rank) offering the initial morale bid. Round 1 ended on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 11pm EST.

 

The summarized match statistics for all of Round 1's bidding players (based on the final, accepted bids) were as follows, except for one match which was not played:
